I had the EXACT same reaction! I will certainly look at Mr. Vincent's appraisal, but the question is this: Why put that slug in the HOF? Is it now a given that any commissioner goes in? That can't be right.
He was charged with protecting baseball.....from the owners. That's the Commissioner's job and everyone knows it. He greased the wheels for all manner of collusion and other criminal activity.
That place (the HOF) is already full of players who don't belong there. Now they have a commissioner who doesn't. A thin year indeed.
